IMPORTANT: If You Are Attending the Michael Telechat,

MICHAEL TEACHINGS TELECHAT INSTRUCTIONS

The telechat begins at 9PM EST (Sunday) and will run approximately two hours.

You may ask a personal or general interest question at the telechat, but
please do not ask questions about your overleaves chart -- such as
your role, soul age, four trues, etc.

To avoid needless complications, please read the following
instructions carefully:

The telechat will be held on the telephone via a live
teleconferencing system. In conjunction, we will also use the MT chat
room as a place to gather together, create a list of questions for
the evening, and field additional questions.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

To either listen-in or participate in the telechat you will need both
the telephone number of the conference and the access code.

REMEMBER...although the teleconference is free, you could incur a
long distance charge depending on where you're calling from. If you
don't have a decent long distance carrier, though, there are many
services online where you can get great rates. For instance,
idphonecard.com offers some nice deals. From Australia I found that a
two hour call to the states would only cost a little over $10. And if
you're in the states, you can get rates as low as 3 cents a minute.
That means the teleconference would only cost you around $3-4
dollars. Also, some students use the skype software to connect to
the telechat, so if long-distance charges are a concern, download
skype and see if it works in your area.

YOUR INSTRUCTIONS

1) The MT chatroom, will be open 30 minutes before the telechat so you can arrive early and socialize with those in the room.

In the MT chatroom, ten minute BEFORE the start of the telechat (8:50
EST) I will create the list of questions for the evening. This is
very important. We will use the MT chatroom to create a list of
questions, but to hear the chat you will need to call the
teleconference number.

Please arrive in the MT chatroom early if you want your question to be included for the night. The telechat will start promptly at 9PM EST. After the telechat begins, however, we may use the chatroom to give additional instructions during the call, so remain in the chatroom even after the call begins.

Note: If you're on dial-up, you obviously can't be in the chatroom and on the phone simultaneously, so in that case just add your name to the queue in the chatroom before the telechat begins, then leave the chat and call the telechat. Your name will be called in the order that it was received.

IMPORTANT: Regarding privacy, if the channel asks for your full name or
the name of the person you are asking about, please type that
information in the chat room. If you mention those names on the
telechat they will be heard by all. Unlike the text chats, we cannot
edit private information from the audio file and will not remove the
file if you request it (since it would ruin the recording). By
participating in the telechat you are then giving us full permission
to play the recorded file online. If you're concerned about privacy,
please type names in the chatroom ONLY and don't say them on the
telechat. We DO want to hear your question on the telechat, but type
any names you'd like kept private in the chatroom.

2) Five minutes before 9PM EST, dial your chosen dial-in number and
use the access code you were provided. If for some reason you get a
busy signal, just try again. Then patiently wait for the workshop to
start. You will be given further instructions at that time regarding
the functionality of the call. After a brief introduction the
telechat will begin.
