Michael Books / Basic Michael Books
« on: April 19, 2011, 02:47:48 AM »
If I were going to recommend the basic Michael books to have, I would most definitely start with the Tao to Earth and Earth To Tao books by Jose Stevens. I've had mine so long and read them so many times they are literally falling apart at the seams, but I still get some new understanding out of them every time I read them.

For something much different in organization, but very packed with information, I would also recommend Shepherd Hoodwin's The Journey of Your Soul. It's mostly written from Shepherd's perspective with some channeled sections here and there, and this dual-perspective gives huge amounts of useful information about the teachings. There are even some bonus comedy sections at the end -- I'll never forget the old soul hot tub!

Those two together give a pretty good grounding in the teachings.

And as a bonus, a great book that is less about learning the system and more of a how-to manual for living a better life Michael-style is Searching for Light by Carol Heideman. Absolutely love this book, particularly the visualization Michael gives of what our world will be like in the future. Just wonderful.

So far, we appear to be King-heavy.

If you felt super-awful about killing an insect to the point where you berate yourself and forever think of yourself as an evil and senseless silencer of innocent life, you could create self-karma.

Some students turn soul age into such a hierarchical measurement that I got frustrated once and changed my profile at the MT site to Infant soul. I don't think I've changed it back. And I'm rather amused just imagining the raised eyebrows it creates. ;-)

Haha, love it Dave! Love anything that busts up that kind of thinking :)

I'm waiting for all the Infant souls to come crawling out of the woodwork :D

I didn't see anything Sage-y, but I did see massive Priest energy :) You're welcome, it was a pleasure!

Drury, the second I looked at you, your pictures screamed PRIEST! My husband guessed the same thing too, and he didn't know it was one of the choices you had narrowed down to.

Drury, I'd love to give it a shot -- I'm married to a Priest with Sage casting, so maybe my eye will be able to detect something!

Edited:

I just read the guidelines, and I'm not allowed to ask you to contact me! Dave, how can we communicate off-board? I can't figure out how to PM anyone.

Soul Age / Re: Old Souls in a Young Soul World
« on: April 17, 2011, 07:07:27 PM »
Thanks for that, Karen! As you have shown, we have an incredible lot to thank young souls for. Yet they are continually denigrated by "wiser" souls, like the crazy aunt we keep locked in the attic because we don't want to admit we are related to her. Young souls freed us from the stifling grip of baby soul society, got us out of superstition and into science. That's all I need to hear to think they've done something freakin' awesome and to be grateful. We are at our most separate from the Tao as young souls, and that causes a lot of things we consider problems once we're past that stage and start thinking about how we're connected instead of how we're separate. But how were we supposed to know they were problems until we experienced them, and gained the perspective afterward? Let's welcome young souls back in the family fold ;)

As for navigating a young soul world, I think old souls just have to find their own niche with other older souls and/or the arts and get their spiritual sustenance there.

Dave, whatever you didn't get in cuteness, you got in sense of humor, which we know is almost the same thing ("Why did you fall in love with him?" "He made me laugh!")!

I know what you mean -- I don't exactly have the cash laying around to do 20 questions with Michael either. I definitely believe that simple proximity can affect others in the way you describe. In fact, the Michaels say that that's the exact role that old souls can play. For instance, they say we don't really have to participate that much in a group full of younger soul ages -- just an old soul being present there gives the group some kind of spiritual lift.

My husband the Priest definitely affects people just by giving them his attention. I can see their energy change and lighten before my eyes.

Artisan / Re: How to tell if I'm an Artisan?
« on: April 17, 2011, 06:22:45 AM »
For me one of the telltale signs of an artisan is an intense interest in making stuff with their hands. Just look at Karen's post! A lot of people have crafty hobbies, but an artisan will be highly engaged and almost endlessly fascinated by different forms of hands-on creation activities.

I also note a kind of otherworldly/distracted look in the eyes and in their energy, almost like they're watching/perceiving a movie that no one else can see, and it's giving them LOTS of ideas for their next project.... :D And, lots of time, they're very attractive and cute :)
