Considering the nature of his comedic antics over the years, many people don't take Carrey that seriously as a person, but in other clips and interviews I've seen indications that this guy may be on the path.

Dave, absolutely! A couple years ago he just kind of woke up, and he's been talking about it ever since (SAGE!!). I think it may have been prompted by his breakup with Jenny McCarthy. It's been great to see someone with this level of energy directed at something so positive.
