Michael Books / Re: Basic Michael Books
« on: April 19, 2011, 03:13:54 PM »
Thanks for book recommendations, here and on the thread I started.  Since I'm so interested in the Michael Teachings, I think I better buy some books.   :)

The Roles (or Soul Types) / Re: How do I figure out my Role?
« on: April 19, 2011, 01:19:21 AM »
I don't want to start a thread just for this question, so I'll post it here and hope someone sees it.  Is there a Michael book, or even two or three of them combined, that covers everything that's on this website?  I'd like a book or two to read to help with my understanding of the following:  Roles, Goals, Modes, Attitudes, Centers, Chief Features, Needs, Motivation, Global Job, Community Job, Body Type, Soul Age, Grand Cycles, Cadre, Entity, Cadence, Casting, Male/Female energy ratio, Frequency, Essence Twin, Life Task, and anything I left out that has to do with categorizing and hopefully understanding myself and others better.

Edit:  I just realized there's a section called Michael Books at the bottom of the forum.  If you want to move this question, Dave, go ahead and I'll check for it there.

Soul Age / Re: POLL: What is Your Soul Age?

I just wanted to add...  It turns out that I have a fascination with categorizing people.  It's inherently interesting, plus it helps me understand people and improve my relationship with them.  As long as any category isn't used as an ego trip, I'm all for putting labels on who people are, for that understanding, as long as the labels are flexible enough that they can change as the person changes or as a better category is found.  I've found labeling personality- or soul-wise to be a good, but not perfect, indication as to who will have my interests and values.  I would enjoy having Infant and Baby souls posting here since I'd like their take on spiritual and psychological matters.

Dave, French vanilla ice cream would go a long way toward bumping me to Old Soul, and even to full enlightenment if the supply is endless.   :D

"I make florays all the way down to Infant, though."

I did my post and went running out the door, and I didn't take time to phrase it well.  By "down" I didn't mean less in any way, only in terms of number of times reincarnated.  Who can say that a college student is better or has more inherent intelligence than a child in kindergarten?  More maturity, but in my case, not always, lol.  I have been very lucky in that I've been able to sidestep social expectations to a great extent, including the pitchforks and flaming torches.   :)

I didn't vote since I'm not sure, but judging by my beliefs, values and interests, I bounce between Mature and Old, and in fact a lifelong problem is off and on letting relationships get in the way of many of my underlying spiritual values.  To make a guess, I'd say Mature.  Maybe my chart will pin it down more closely.  I make florays all the way down to Infant, though. ;)

Someone made me a forum mod once without asking me and I was like eeek!, there's no way I'm going behind the scenes and maybe bring down the site and possibly the entire Internet with it.   :D

I dreamed about Roles much of the night, with no definitive answer that I can remember, but I did realize that if I'm a Priest, my mission in life has been somewhat Sage-y in character.

I e-mailed you back, but thanks for looking at my pictures.  I agree, Priest or Sage seem to be the best guesses for now.   :)

I was heading into a mild panic, wondering where my thread went, and my SO calmly said, "It was probably moved."  Good thing I'm married to someone with a less excitable Role.   ;D  This is a better place for it, which I realized after I started the thread.

Chiara, if you see this, I sent you another e-mail.   :D

Dave, I just sent pics - thank you!

When I try looking at other people's Profiles, searching for a way to PM, I get the message "Many apologies, but you can't view just any profile" with all Profiles.  Maybe that shouldn't be happening?  Or maybe I'm a Young Soul and need to wait a few lifetimes?  ha ha!  Just kidding.   :D  I'll look around some more and see if I can find PMing.

Wow, really??  So they don't say Sage at all?  That's interesting - thanks very much!!   :D

I sent a brief "Addition" via e-mail, not realizing you'd already posted.

Thanks, Chiara!  I just sent it, called "Drury from MT," and the forum was down for a bit, thus my P.S. at the bottom of the e-mail.  Any comments you have, you can post them here or e-mail them back.  I'm very curious!

Hi mtscholar!  I'm just heading out and don't have time to say much, but I wanted to comment on the following:  "The MT were liberating for me when I realized I could "be spiritual" and still cultivate my love of intellectual things...."  I practiced Zen off and on for years and had a similar insight in that I didn't need to put myself in the Zen "box" and be quiet and serious, as most of the Zen students were in this area, but could be more expressive and fun loving and still hold to the teachings.

Dorothy, I meant to post to you last night but it got too late.  Since I know next to nothing about the subject, I googled your mother and read about her role in the MT.  It's hard to believe I've missed this information for such a long time, but I guess the timing wasn't right until now.

As I said, I'm glad to see so many people here who are familar with the MT and can be a resource for those of us just getting started.

Hi Suzi!

I'm new to the Michael Teachings, having stumbled upon it within the last couple weeks by starting to read "7 Personality Types," by Elizabeth Puttick.  I'm very interested in archetypes, as well as other methods of personality typing.  I don't yet have my Michael chart so I'm not sure what my Role is.

Your path sounds a little similar to mine in that I've been a seeker for quite a while and have a wide range of interests in the spiritual/energy healing field and have received some Matrix Energetics and Bowen work.  That's a great idea about using the pendulum.  I've also better understood and have more compassion for people since I've learned about personality typing, and I've been getting the feeling lately that I should also work on my own to sort out who I am with regard to MT.

But anyway, welcome, and I'm glad to see so many people here who are very knowledgeable about MT.   :)

I found the following about Sages:

"A big part of the role of Sages is to teach the world how to have fun, so they are usually the ones who like to get a party going.  Because of their playful nature, Sages often seem younger than they are or seem to never grow up.  Peter Pan is a good example of an immature Sage.  More mature Sages love to teach and share their wisdom....  Their brains are connected to their mouth and their purpose in life is to communicate whatever they know.  They can do this with or without all the facts at hand."

http://www.itstime.com/sep99.htm

That could also be me since though I am looking for a life mission, I tend to let the world go by and just do my small part by trying to help whoever I'm with.  I do believe I'm Cardinal, though I don't seem as dynamic as the three Cardinals.  At this point I spend much of my life studying, but I've pretty much ruled out Scholar since I don't look much like one, plus I likely engage too much with life to be a Scholar as my primary Role.  So now Priest and Sage are in the running.  I hope I don't go through all the Roles this way before I get my chart.   :D  If anyone is good at looking at eyes/faces and understanding a person's Role, let me know and I can try to PM or e-mail my picture to you.
