The Overleaves (General) / Positive and Negative Poles
« on: June 26, 2012, 04:19:14 PM »
I've noticed that when I spend time in the positive pole of my role, or any of my overleaves, people in the corresponding negative pole seem to stand out vividly.

Does this happen to others?

Thanks to Barbara for posting this here and to the list.  I'd been curious about these for some time, and it's interesting to be able to finally review them.

Karma / Philanthropic Karma
« on: November 09, 2011, 02:03:51 PM »
I ran across this in a reread of MMfM a few days ago.  I don't have the exact phrasing of it in front of me, but it seems to be a reversal of normal karma where a choice is removed, and instead a choice is offered.  As with normal karma, though, the gesture is repaid down the line in kind.

I'm still pondering the full implications of this, but so far it seems funny that doing something (profoundly) nice for another might not just be balancing a previous debt, but could also create an imbalance in and of itself.  Any other thoughts on this kind of karma?

Aside from not eating red meat, no special diet.

King / Re: Michael on submissive Kings

I don't recall it being in any Michael material I've read.  And I laughed out loud too, a rarity.

Seven Planes of Existence / Re: Back to the Tao
« on: September 02, 2011, 12:13:32 AM »
I don't think there is a spirit death because the essence is eternal and so is the Tao.

With the notion of Grand Cycles, this would seem to make sense.  Otherwise why keep track of them?

Soul Age / Re: Is the Depression of the Old Soul something normal?
« on: September 02, 2011, 12:11:59 AM »
Quote from: MfM (updated version) p79
"But how do you break away from that?" Emily broke in.  "How do you just slough off the whole (false personality)?"

WE WOULD AGREE WITH YOUR ALLUSION.  THE STRUCTURE OF FALSE PERSONALITY IS A FORMIDABLE ONE.  THE FIXED, RIGID PERSONALITY IS RATHER LIKE A MOUNTAIN OF GRANITE.  CHIPPING AWAY RELENTLESSLY IS THE SOLE SOLUTION.  DEPRESSION IS THE EXTERNAL MANIFESTATION OF THE INTERNAL STRUGGLE.  DEPRESSION, BY THE WAY, IS ONE OF THE ONLY NEUROTIC MANIFESTATIONS LEFT TO THE OLD SOUL.  EVEN JESUS FELT IT.  EACH OF YOU SPENT MANY YEARS BUILDING THIS FACADE.  DO YOU REALLY FEEL THAT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DISCARD THIS QUITE CASUALLY WITH HARDLY A WHIMPER?  WE THINK NOT.  PROGRESS IS BEING MADE IN QUITE CONCRETE WAYS."

;D at the chipping and concrete pun.

As the Old Soul is generally the age most focused on erasing false personality, they are the most likely to experience the depression that is a result of the "chipping away" that it entails - let alone the other reasons in Phil's great writeup on Old Souls on the main website.

Essence Twins / Re: Essence Twin
« on: August 08, 2011, 11:15:07 PM »
Welcome to the site.   :)

For me, I had a friendship with my (presumed) ET for almost 10 years.  When I found the Michael Teachings and read the description of Essence Twins, our relationship seemed to fit it to a tee, and her role was straightforward to determine based on her behavior and a couple of questions asked of her.  I haven't had this confirmed by a channel, though.

Most people here would probably say that having your chart done or having the information channeled is the most direct way to find the answer to your question.

Michael Books / Re: Michael For The Millenium
« on: July 29, 2011, 04:38:56 PM »
The obvious difference between MFTM and the other Yarbro books is that it
doesn't present any core MT material. MFTM is mostly just chapters containing Q
& A on various topics, such as the environment, overpopulation, and so forth.
But Michael's answers seem well-reasoned and instructive. I enjoyed the
channeling.

I believe this is a lot of why people have a different opinion of the book.  The first three felt so dense with information that people would tend to expect the fourth to fall into the same vein.

Myself, I didn't really get the focus on "ikons," and I have to admit I started flipping pages quickly during the full detail of incarnations for each of the roles.  I agree that the material regarding the environment and overpopulation was interesting, and understand from my own experiences that much of the time it comes down to possibilities for the future - but even so, I'd have appreciated some more detail regarding said possibilities.  In all fairness, this is likely the junior eschatologist in me.

I don't know that I'm familiar with Troy's channeling, so I can't speak to that, but I do agree (with no offense to any other Michael channel) that Yarbro's group's focus and dedication to the process laid an excellent foundation to build upon.

The Seven Goals / Re: Question to those with Goal of Growth
« on: July 20, 2011, 07:39:57 PM »
When I was younger, I was like a sponge and wanted to learn everything I could about anything that interested me at all.

The older I get, the more I seem to slide to Re-evaluation, trying to discern if undertaking a new study or hobby is really worth it in the long run.  If it's not a pursuit that will further my goals, my growth, or someone else's growth - I generally pass.

I've been aware since age 4-ish that I saw the world (and people) differently than most, and I've been a seeker in earnest since high school.  Over the next 20 years, I was always on the lookout for anything (Psychology, Biology, Sociology, Spirituality, etc.) that could explain why I was different than most people or why I felt I was on some sort of quest.  I discovered the Michael Teachings about two years ago when I was drawn to seek out anything I could find on "Old Souls," and found the Michael Teachings through a self-help book by Thayer White.  In it, he strongly recommended the Yarbro writings as a source of research and learning, as over the years he'd never had a major point of contention with them.

I picked up a copy of the first book, read it, and agreed - the book seemed to firm up a lot of conclusions I'd synthesized from many sources over the years.  So I picked up the other Yarbro books as well.  MMfM and MP also had a lot of good material, but MftM seemed to wander a lot and was more vague in nature.  I picked up Shepherd's book later, but by that time I'd devoured much of the website's contents, so a lot of it was repeats.

These days, I use Soul Age and the Overleaves as a system for personal growth, and for understanding and helping people better.  I also appreciate the glimpses of what comes after reincarnating on the physical plane ends.

Soul Age / Cycling Off
« on: June 08, 2011, 09:08:12 PM »
The more research I do on it, the more the information I find seems to contradict itself.  For instance:

Quote
"You never cycle off without being aware of doing it"

versus

Quote
"some people will cycle off with only a faint feeling that there's more than meets the eye"

Most sources tend to agree on the prevalence of non-attachment plus major interpersonal karmas being resolved as the key criteria, but tend to differ past that point as to the specifics of how and when it happens - plus what the average 7th-level Old Soul is like.  What do we really know about this process/experience and the soul age that immediately precedes it?

When you are logged in as yourself, you'll see your own email address on your own posts regardless of if you've set it to be visible to others.

An Idealist ENFP Priest...  And I thought I had problems grounding...    :o

It would be interesting to get Michael's take on MBTI sometime.  And no, haven't made it to California this time around.

15
1] My presumed ET is a King.  Not quite sure about my casting at present...

2] Thus far, I've attributed my writing and speaking style to MBTI more than anything.  As an INFJ, my Extroverted Feeling (responsiveness to others' values and needs) could seem to emulate the Sage quality of the "audience channel."  There's also a tendency towards perfectionism, so I edit/re-edit/re-re-edit my posts for the perfect wording, and can take a bit of time to answer in-person.   ;)

However, in thinking on how the MT could apply here, it could be one or more of several things.  Cardinal roles all share the desire to communicate to groups, so effective presentation is a boon.  Soul age generally implies overall refinement as one ages, which could lead to more-polished language.  Overleaves could come into play as well - I'm an Idealist myself, and that's more typical for Sages, it seems.
