Title: email address visible?

hello! i don't want my email address to be visible, and i checked the box that says "hide email address from public?"... but i don't know if this actually worked.

did it work?

All emails are kept private on this forum. I can see it, of course, but I'm the administrator and need to see it in the event that I want to ban you or send your soul to a place of eternal hell and damnation. ;)

? I can see peoples email addresses though...

You should see profile names, but all email addresses are invisible. How are you seeing them?

When you are logged in as yourself, you'll see your own email address on your own posts regardless of if you've set it to be visible to others.

There is a little envelope icon underneath people's user names.

I must be missing something.  I can't even view profiles, much less e-mail addresses or anything else.

How do I view profiles?  When I click on someone's name, I get a message that says I can't view anyone's profile.  The only one I can see is my own.

Your email isn't showing, Doodee. And I would advise more people to keep their emails private due to the spammers that occasionally pass through. Just go to your account settings in your profile and check the box that says "Hide email from public."

Under Account settings, there is no box saying: "Hide e-mail from public". Where is it?
There's just a Box, saying: "Allow users to e-mail me".
